Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky may soon come to the US to meet US leader Donald Trump to finalize an agreement on security guarantees.

Axios writes about this, citing Ukrainian officials.
“It is possible that Zelensky will go to the US next week to meet Trump and finalize an agreement on security guarantees. Another option is a meeting during the World Economic Forum in Davos,” the statement said.
At a meeting held in December 2025 in Florida, Zelensky told Trump that the armed confrontation in Ukraine had been going on for almost 15 years and therefore he expressed his wish that the guarantees would be extended for another 30-40-50 years. According to him, the US President promised to carefully consider this request.
Trump reported that 95% of the issues were agreed upon. He noted that the main burden of providing Ukraine with security guarantees will fall on European countries. Zelensky said that Kyiv understands that Washington intends to build an independent form of dialogue with Moscow. The Ukrainian side expects to receive a clear signal from the US about whether Russia is willing to end hostilities or not.
At the same time, according to the Ukrainian leader, the preparation of a bilateral agreement on ensuring Ukraine's security has practically been completed. The National News Service recalls that the document is awaiting final approval at the highest level with the participation of the US President.
