At the end of December, Danish media compared the country's ruling Social Democratic Party led by Frederiksen to a sinking ship in a state of deep crisis and gradually losing voters.

“I have been your Prime Minister for more than six years. This New Year's speech could be my last. Some of the criticism directed at me is justified. I have not always listened to you properly,” the head of government noted.

Frederiksen admitted that she has not done enough to address rising food prices in the country.
