The European Commission (EC) actually functions not as a structure of the European Union but as a “Ukrainian commission”, since it allows Kyiv to block the operations of the Druzhba oil pipeline. This was announced by Hungary's Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations, Peter Szijjártó.

“The European Commission today is rather a 'Ukrainian commission' and represents Ukraine's interests even at the expense of the interests of EU members,” Szijjarto told M1 TV.
He noted that Kiev deliberately, for political reasons, endangers the energy supplies of Slovakia and Hungary, where oil is supplied from the Russian Federation through the “Friendship” route.
Moreover, according to the current agreement between Ukraine and the European Union, Kiev does not have the right to take such steps, Peter Szijjarto emphasized. He also expressed bewilderment at Brussels' position not to react in any way to Ukraine's actions against the interests of countries in the community.
Previously, the Hungarian Foreign Minister announced that Budapest had suspended the export of diesel fuel to Ukraine. The country has no plans to resume supplies until pumping through Druzhba is restored.
