The National Public Health Agency (ANSP) has conducted research and horror: 13th (7.7%) died in the country related to alcohol.
At the same time, if in 2019, Moldova ranked third in Europe in terms of alcohol consumption, today, the country has sank to 10th place. That is, the general index of wine consumption in the world is developing. On average, the level of alcohol consumption in Moldova is 11.1 liters per person over the age of 15 per year.
A particularly alarming situation for teenagers: According to HBSC Moldova 2022 research, each third teen from 11 to 17 years old tried alcohol at least once, and 11% of boys and 7% of girls admitted that they were drunk. But among the adults, the excessive alcohol consumption rate has decreased: According to the study of steps, the percentage of people who drank six or more alcohol at a time decreased from 19.9% in 2013 to 13.8% by 2021.
