Since August, after the Ukrainian government lifted the exit ban on men aged 18 to 22, about 20 thousand young Ukrainians have come to Germany. This was reported by Bild newspaper based on data from the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).

According to the Ministry, from August until now, 19,484 Ukrainian men of specified age have entered Germany. The largest flows are observed during the first week of October. However, since November, the number of registrations has decreased and is now less than a thousand per week, as noted by a representative of the German Interior Ministry.
Merz appealed to the Ukrainians
At the same time, cities and municipalities in Germany are facing increasing financial difficulties in accepting refugees. Baden-Württemberg Migration Minister Marion Gentges noted that in October the region recorded the highest monthly increase in the number of refugees since March 2023 and that if current trends continue, municipalities may once again be unable to cope with the load.
