The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office denied allegations that the referees involved in the betting scandal had been detained.
The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office announced that, within the scope of the investigation of the referees, some posts on social networks claimed that the detention orders issued against the referees did not reflect the truth.
The prosecutor's office announced that there were no detention orders or anyone arrested.
WHAT HAPPENED?
An investigation was launched following statements by the President of the Turkish Football Federation, İbrahim Hacıosmanoğlu, about the referee placing bets. The Istanbul Chief Prosecutor's Office accepted Hacıosmanoğlu's testimony as a report and announced that work had begun. The Office of the Chief Prosecutor announced that MASAK's reports over the past five years related to the betting scandal, HTS records, registration records of accessible domestic and international betting sites, records related to the detection of betting activities on these sites and witness statements have begun to be collected.
