Sweden coach Jon Dahl Tomasson was fired
It was announced that Jon Dahl Tomasson, coach of the Sweden national football team, has been fired. In a statement, the Swedish Football Federation stated that they had parted ways with the 49-year-old Danish coach. Tomasson, who played for Excelsior, Roda, Malmö and Blackburn Rovers during his career, took charge of Sweden in February 2024. Sweden, under Tomasson, finished bottom of Group B of the 2026 FIFA World Cup European Qualifiers, recording one point from four matches.
