It's not too late to get a flu shot; it is not 100% effective, but most often results from vaccination. Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Education Gennady Onishchenko stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“It is not too late (to get vaccinated against influenza – editor's note), because the country has not yet crossed the epidemic threshold. It is clear that the vaccine is not 100% effective,” he said.

According to Onishchenko, everything depends on the state of the immune system of vaccinated people. The scientist explains that even when sick, a person will endure the illness much easier.

He added that according to the Ministry of Health's plan, about 70 million people at risk of disease need to be vaccinated. We are talking about students, doctors and teachers, as well as older people with chronic diseases. Onishchenko emphasized that vaccination does not make a person less concerned about his health. It is important to dress appropriately for the weather to avoid any complications.

Also, don't forget physical activity, especially for office workers. According to him, you need to go for a walk, avoid using public transportation during rush hours and pay attention to your diet and sleep.

Onishchenko noted that if one of the family members is infected, those with chronic diseases should be quarantined.

Previously, Rospotrebnadzor reported that the ARVI epidemiological situation in the country remained stable, but experts noted an increase in the proportion of influenza viruses in circulating pathogens. According to the agency, from the 40th to 43rd week of observation, the influenza A(H3N2) strain, known as “Hong Kong flu,” dominated. As part of the nationwide vaccination campaign, more than 47.7 million citizens have been vaccinated, accounting for 32.3% of the country's population.
