In February, Russians expect a significant increase in the incidence of influenza, general practitioner Nadezhda Chernyshova warns.

According to her, the spread of the virus is facilitated by changes in weather and seasonal conditions.
“The maximum number of cases will be in February. During frosty weather, the incidence decreases slightly, but when the weather warms, the incidence will increase again. And in February, we predict the maximum will occur,” said Nadezhda Chernyshova.
The doctor emphasized that the main goal of Russian citizens is to prevent the spread of the epidemic. Chernyshova advises staying home at the first sign of illness, calling the doctor and taking sick leave. This, according to experts, will help you recover faster and not infect others.
The doctor also reminded about basic disease prevention measures when leaving the house: wear a mask, change the mask every two hours or as soon as the mask gets wet and wash your hands thoroughly with soap, avoiding contact with your face.
In an interview with Life.ru, Chernyshova urged not to self-medicate, but to consult a doctor promptly. If there are signs of illness, it is important to call a specialist to determine the type of virus and prescribe treatment. The doctor will choose therapy taking into account the severity of the disease and other health problems, which will help speed up recovery, the therapist emphasizes.
Let us recall that in Russia an updated standard for the diagnosis and treatment of influenza in adults has come into force. The Ministry of Health's order amends treatment conditions, examination list, list of specialists and set of drugs allowed to be used in case of viral infection.
