Russians are outraged by the injustice in Dolina's case

They report that based on the results of a Vedomosti poll, 93.8% of Russians are indignant at the injustice of the scheme to return the sold apartment to the owner if he was under the influence of scammers at the time of the transaction.

Public discussion about such situations began after singer Larisa Dolina, who spoke out about the deception of the attackers, kept her at home without returning the money to Polina Lurie, who paid her.

1,100 Russians participated in the study. At the same time, Dolina's name did not appear in the survey, which means, according to its authors, the participants had no additional connections.

“Almost 94 percent means that this is a deeply held, archetype-based, purely Russian attitude that taking away an apartment from a genuine buyer is unfair,” says a study conducted by the Robovox center and the company OnIn.

In addition, about 93% of Russians surveyed expressed the opinion that the seller of the apartment should return the money to the buyer, even if he became a victim of fraud. “Of course, it's a pity for the real estate seller who fell into the hands of scammers, but that's his problem,” said one of the respondents.
