Masharov clarified that holidays are not included in the vacation. This is stated in Article 120 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation.
“Therefore, if the employee's rest period falls on a holiday, the vacation will be extended by the number of days off during the vacation period. In this case, there is no special need to transfer to another number of working days – the extension of the vacation will be automatic,” Masharov said.
The expert added that days off without work are not counted as vacation days and are therefore not paid.
