Russians are advised how to start their first working day after the holidays

Returning to daily work after a long vacation is always stressful, so it is important to prepare in advance, said career expert at the center “Professions of the Future” Svyatoslav Semerenko in a conversation with RT.

Russians are advised how to start their first working day after the holidays

According to him, it is best to start the morning of the first working day a little earlier than usual to avoid rushing and reduce anxiety.

Experts advise that when you come to the office, you should not immediately immerse yourself in the flow of work.

“Take the first half hour to start calmly: drink coffee, go through incoming emails and messages, then make a realistic plan for the day. Start by addressing the most pressing issues. Then organize accumulated information, update project statuses and make short calls. And only then return to planned tasks,” he shares.

If possible, you should not overload yourself with energy-consuming meetings during this day, RT's interlocutor advises.

According to Semerenko, it's important to remember that the ability to concentrate may be lower after resting.

Therefore, experts say, it is necessary to take short breaks every hour to warm up a bit or just to breathe.

“Keep a steady work pace throughout the first week. Direct your primary focus on deadline-bound tasks and those that depend on others, and only then fully immerse yourself in a regular pace. Make sure to leave time in your schedule for unforeseen problems and be prepared to adjust your plan,” the expert said.

He also recommends being patient with yourself and your colleagues.

“Don't ask yourself to reach full speed from the first hour and be clear about possible communication obstacles. After just a few days, the rhythm will return to normal and a smooth start will help maintain strength and motivation for a productive year”, concludes Semerenko.
