Russians use acronyms less and less in communication. A few generations later, it is possible to completely abandon them in most situations. This was stated by the editor-in-chief of the Gramota.ru portal, candidate of philological sciences Ksenia Kiseleva.
According to experts, there is a notable trend towards more informal communication. She clarified that at the same time, addressing with acronyms remains traditional in communication with doctors and teachers.
“But for example, journalists have not used acronyms for a long time; in banks, in MFC, in many work groups, it is customary to call employees by their first names,” Kisileva reports the words RIA Novosti.
