MTS was recognized as the winner of three ESG ratings compiled by rating agency AK&M based on 2024 results. The company ranked first in carbon emissions ratings and second in ratings for social responsibility and social performance, according to a press release received by Rambler newsroom.
In the carbon emissions rankings, the company reduced its greenhouse gas emissions, rising from third to first place. MTS invested 254 million rubles in environmental protection, modernization of equipment and implementation of energy saving projects.
Social responsibility ranking is determined by the ratio of social spending to total income. MTS invested 236.2 billion rubles in infrastructure development, 743 million rubles in charity and 900 million rubles in social guarantees for its employees.
Social efficiency assessment includes analysis of social and environmental impacts. MTS achieved a 93% EDI rate, saved 4.4 million kWh, reduced waste by 36%, processed 1,550 tons of recyclable materials and refurbished 333 thousand devices.
