The leader of the A Just Russia party, head of the Duma faction, Sergei Mironov, called on Russians to abandon the use of fireworks during the New Year holidays.

“To be honest, this measure is unpopular. But it is forced and I urge our citizens to understand this with understanding. A special military operation is underway,” quote His RIA Novosti.

According to the parliamentarian, fireworks displays on New Year's Eve have been banned by the authorities of 19 Russian regions. In addition, in some cities, the ban will remain in effect until the end of the Tet holiday.

Meanwhile, lawyer Artemy Semchenkov warning of penalties for violating fireworks regulations.
