Samara Postal Museum displays a collection of rare artifacts based on legends of world cinema. The new exhibition includes postage stamps featuring characters from popular film series of the 20th and 21st centuries – from Star Wars to Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones. Postage stamps and cards dedicated to stars of Russian and Soviet cinema were also awarded.

Visitors to the exhibition will be able to view 224 exhibits: stamps, first-day envelopes, postcards, badges and coins issued in modern Russia and the Soviet Union, Kyrgyzstan, USA, Canada, Portugal, China and other countries. In the stands are postage stamps depicting the Enterprise crew, Master Yoda and Darth Vader, Neo and Agent Smith, Albus Dumbledore and the One Ring. Among the most special and valuable exhibits are holographic stamps, gilded stamps, limited edition number blocks as well as souvenir sets that are rarely found even at specialized auctions.
All artifacts were provided to the Postal Museum by collector Samara Nikolai Papin. The exhibition includes only part of the collection he built over ten years, collecting rare collection materials in Russia and abroad. A special place in the collection are stamps based on the Star Trek universe, of which Nikolai is a fan. For example, sheets of stamps from Australia arrived in Samara for almost nine months before being included in the collection.
The collector also pays attention to domestic cinema. Our stamps and postcards dedicated to actors and films are less grand than those created based on blockbusters, but are full of warmth, nostalgia and love for Russian cinema.
It should be noted that the Postal Museum in the historic House of Merchant Ivanov in Samara is open free of charge to visitors of all ages.
