In the Australian city of Upper Cooma, lightning struck a parked Ford Ranger pickup during an overnight thunderstorm. The discharge was so powerful that it blew a hole in the car's body and partially melted the interior.

According to local sources, thanks to the quick response of the car owner and neighbors, quickly extinguishing the fire that broke out, the car was saved from being completely burned.
The incident once again reminds us of the dangers of lightning. Rescuers recommend that during thunderstorms, if possible, limit travel and do not park in open areas.
