In Australia, a couple fell 25 meters on a tourist zipline

December 12, 2025
in Politics

A couple was injured while driving on a zip line in Australia. The Guardian reports this. The incident occurred in 2019, but hearings in the criminal case only took place in December 2025. The couple had traveled to Queensland, where they planned to visit a local tourist destination. In it, a rope is tied between two towers, visitors must fly 86 meters above the tropical forest. While traveling on the zipline, a man and a woman fell from a height of 25 meters. As a result, the victim suffered broken ribs and shoulder blades. Her husband was injured in the head and chest and could not be saved. During the investigation, it turned out that the fastening was not reliable enough. The attraction workers were supposed to occasionally “tighten” parts but did not do this. Experts came to this conclusion after conducting two tests. Two criminal cases have been opened in connection with the incident but no verdict has been issued.
