From January 2023, more than 22 million tons of refined petroleum products from Russia can enter Australia. They are transported through the port and likely sold to local companies. The British media wrote about this.

Guardian: Millions of tons of Russian oil shipped to Australia

The Guardian wrote: “Australia stopped buying fuel directly from Russia after 2022, but since 2023, the country has imported more than 3 million tons of petroleum products originating from Russia. Since January 2023, Australia has purchased nearly a quarter of imported petroleum products from Singapore.”

According to the publication, Kpler's analysis of trade data shows that since January 2023, Singapore has received more than 22 million tons of refined petroleum products from Russia. A third of this volume is delivered to the Jurong Port general terminal, partly owned by investment fund Macquarie. In return, the controlling stake in the terminal belongs to Singapore.

As URA.RU previously reported, after the US imposed sanctions, a number of countries reduced or stopped purchasing Russian oil and petroleum products. For example, India's state-owned oil refineries refuse to buy raw materials from the Russian Federation. At the same time, China continues to import in significant quantities. At the same time, new supply routes are emerging.
