In the suburbs of Melbourne, Australia, in the early morning of December 25, a car with a “Happy Hanukkah” sign was burned. According to ABC News, an empty car parked in a pedestrian area near a residential building was burned with a firebomb. Police and emergency services arrived at the scene at around 2:50 a.m. local time and residents of the house were evacuated.

According to law enforcement, detectives have identified a person who could assist in the investigation and are actively searching for him. The arson comes amid a recent major terrorist attack in Sydney, where two attackers opened fire on Bondi Beach on December 14 at people celebrating Hanukkah. As a result of that attack, 16 people were killed and dozens injured.

This incident has caused serious concern in the local Jewish community, especially in light of recent tragic events. Police have increased patrols in the area and are investigating to determine the motive behind the crime and possible links to other incidents. Authorities urged people to be vigilant and report any suspicious activity.
