On February 25, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the construction and reconstruction of city stations and the renewal of the capital's electric transport.

Moscow authorities will continue to cooperate with Russian Railways to modernize the city's station network.
Sergei Sobyanin said: “We will continue the construction and reconstruction of Moscow city stations “Moscow City”, “Sickle and Molot”, “Zheleznodorozhnaya”, “Begovaya”, “Tsaritsyno”, renovation of Leningradsky station, renewal of rolling stock on the Yaroslavl direction of Moscow Railways.
11 new trains will be purchased for the Yaroslavl direction of Moscow Railways. Other updates this year include the launch of 11 more driverless electric vehicles. Thanks to this, their total number will reach 15. In 2026, it is also planned to complete the entire renovation of the tram fleet: 50 modern Lion-Moscow trams will arrive in the capital.
In addition, as part of the development of the Moscow tram network, line T2 will be opened, connecting the Novogireevo station of the 4th Moscow Central Diameter with the Chertanovskaya metro station.
The renewal of the electric bus fleet will also continue.
— We will receive more than 400 electric buses and the proportion of environmentally friendly transport on Mosgortrans routes will reach 45%. The total number of electric buses will exceed 3.3 thousand vehicles,” the mayor said.
In addition, more than 50 new bus routes will be opened connecting Moscow and the Moscow region.
