January promises to be frosty for Muscovites. Tatyana Pozdnykova, chief expert of the Meteonovosti portal, told the TV channel about this.

Muscovites were informed about the weather in January

According to forecasters, by January, icy weather will definitely hit the capital region. This is proven not only by preliminary forecasts but also by traditional weather patterns.

“It is certain that there will be frost in January, because this is the coldest month of the year,” Pozdnykova explains.

She does not undertake to name certain frost and thaw dates. The likelihood of particularly severe frosts is low – as Pozdnykova reminds, temperatures in Moscow and the Moscow region have not dropped below minus 25 degrees in recent years.

At this time, the meteorologist added, snow cover will form in Moscow and the region. It will be formed due to heavy snowfall – intense rainfall from December 23 to 26 in the capital region is predicted by the forecaster of the Meteo forecast center Alexander Ilyin.
