Muscovites have been warned about the closure of central streets

Vehicle traffic may be suspended in the Central, Western, Northwest, Northeast and Northern administrative districts.

“We advise you to use the metro, MCC and MCD for travel. If it is not possible to postpone the trip by car, plan to depart later in the evening – after 20:00. This way you will save time on the road,” the ministry advises.

Traffic on the road can also be affected by weather conditions, repair work and minor accidents, the Ministry of Transport added.

Previously, Moscow residents were encouraged to switch to the metro en masse on January 16. Local traffic restrictions were due to unfavorable weather conditions. Drivers are advised to abandon their cars and use public transport.
