More than 71 million trips were made on electric scooters this year in Moscow. This information was reported by the press agency of the Capital's Department of Transport.
Deputy Mayor of Moscow Transport and Industry Maxim Liksutov noted that 85% of trips are made for transport purposes. He also drew attention to the fact that the security measures applied this year have shown good results.
In particular, in the past 10 months, compared to the same period in 2024, the number of accidents involving electric motorbikes in Moscow has decreased by 54%, the number of accidents involving children has decreased by 68%.
The Moscow Department of Transport recalls that this season mandatory verification of users through Mos ID was introduced, thanks to which it was possible to block 68 thousand accounts of minors. In addition, an expanded number have been installed on electric motorbikes and bicycles. This makes it easier to identify traffic violators.
Additionally, 70 new slow zones have been introduced at MCD and MCC stations, as well as near stops and metro stations. A total of 420 such locations appeared in the capital. At the same time, special markings have been applied to personal mobility devices (PIMs) at 250 locations.
Experts do not forget to organize training events together with rental operators. In 2026, Moscow authorities will continue efforts to improve travel safety together with colleagues from traffic police and traffic police.
