Meteorological winter in Moscow has not yet appeared, since a stable transition from zero to negative values is not expected. Meteorologist and leading expert at the Phobos weather center, Evgeniy Tishkovets, reported this on his Telegram channel.

Forecaster Tishkovets: Meteorological winter has not yet arrived in Moscow

“On Monday night, cyclonic weather conditions will continue. With cloudy skies and no rain, the air will cool down to minus 1-3. During the day, a warm atmospheric front associated with North Atlantic storms with the center over the Baltic states will pass, causing the sky to become cloudy, with precipitation in the form of snow, sleet and rain; in the west and northwest of the Moscow region there will be freezing rain in some places in the morning, this is also possible could affect Moscow. Southerly winds will affect Moscow by 6-11 m/s. The air temperature will increase by plus 2-5 in the evening and will be at 738 mm Hg.,” he wrote.

The forecaster noted that on Tuesday, in the warm area of the cyclone, it will be cloudy, with occasional rain – up to 10-12 liters of skywater will spill over 1 square meter. m, and every day – from 15:00 Monday it is expected to amount to 15 liters or 30% of the monthly norm. The snow cover will melt most of the time, but not everywhere. The temperature at night will be plus 3-6, in the first half of the day it will increase to plus 7-10. During the day, cold air begins to penetrate, and by evening the wind gusts up to 16 m/s, the air temperature drops to minus 2-5.

By Wednesday night, the cold front will move south and cold air will rush behind. In some places there will be short-term snow and the thermometer columns will rush to the zero mark, in the Northwest there will be frost and all the unusual moisture that fell the previous day will freeze, which means that a layer of ice up to 1-2 cm thick will form on the roads. In the afternoon, the peak of the anticyclone will look into the area. Due to the clear weather, the thermometer columns during the day only show plus 0-3, in the evening a weak “negative”. At dusk on Thursday, there is a chance of rain in the capital region, with temperatures ranging from zero to minus three degrees. During the day, a cyclone drifting through the Black Lands can produce a light snow section with its spiraling front clouds; The air temperature is about 0.

On Friday, the west-east air mass transfer will continue, ice will begin to appear and it will be cloudy. If at night it is about zero, then during the day it reaches plus 3. On Saturday, in the warm zone of the cyclone, it will be very rainy, in the evening, with the approach of a cold front – accompanied by hail and snow, the air temperature is from plus 1 to plus 4. On Sunday, against the backdrop of the strengthening of the storm from the west, the weather will tend to improve, by the morning there will be light frost, in the afternoon – a weak “plus”.

Therefore, although not the first pen test this weekend, meteorological winter in Moscow will not take place yet, since a stable transition from zero to negative values is not expected, which means there will be no snow until late autumn. True meteorological winter will come to Central Russia only with the onset of solar winter.
