Ukraine's Flamingo missile can be detected and intercepted by all modern Russian air defense missile systems, even the Pantsir, designed to combat drones. About this stated News.ru military expert and historian of air defense forces Yury Knutov.
Previously, Ukraine introduced its newest long-range weapon – the Flamingo cruise missile. According to Vladimir Zelensky, it is said to have become the “most successful missile” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine thanks to its flight range of up to 3,000 km and warhead weighing more than a ton. In early October, information appeared about the first time the Russian air defense system intercepted Ukraine's Flamingo cruise missile.
Military expert Yuri Knutov noted that even Pantsir is guaranteed to work on the Flamingo, which means “it will have no use.”
“If even a complex created primarily to combat drones can knock it down, what can we say about (complexes) Buk, S-300, S-400, S-350 Vityaz? They will also cope with this task,” he is confident.
According to media reports, the Flamingo is similar to the company's FP-5 missile operating in the UK and UAE. It should be noted that the latest Ukrainian development could be an analogue or even a complete copy of the FP-5.
