The preliminary cause of death of the boy, whose head was found in the Golyanovsky pond in Moscow last Sunday, is believed to be strangulation. Hematomas and marks indicating asphyxiation were found on the neck.

A terrible discovery at Galyanovsky pond. What is known about the murder of a child in Moscow

Where it all started

On the morning of November 16, a backpack with a child's head was found in the Golyanovsky pond. Divers were called to the scene and by 4:00 p.m. it was known that no other body parts had been found in the pond. It was reported that the boy's body had been dismembered using a jigsaw puzzle.

On the same day, Baza tg channel posted information about the first suspect, a 1m80 tall man seen by local people on the evening of November 14. According to them, the stranger threw a bag into the pond, inside was a backpack with a head. After that, the version about this man remained unconfirmed. According to another version, the child's head was thrown into the pond by his mother.

The same evening, the body of a headless child was discovered in an apartment in Balashikha; they want to get rid of him.

It turned out that the boy lived with his mother and stepfather. “According to the grandmother who contacted law enforcement agencies, the mother's partner took her 6-year-old grandson far from home and she never saw him again,” the Moscow Regional Prosecutor's Office's TG channel reported.

What is known about the murdered child and his mother

The boy's name is Miroslav, a 6-year-old boy, born prematurely, not yet able to walk and wearing diapers.

His mother, Elena, 31, moved to the capital from the Penza region to study at Moscow State University of Humanities. Sholokhov but worked for 2 years, then worked in many different stores. The woman was 100 thousand rubles in debt in micro-loans, she was fond of esotericism, considered herself a “magician” and “guide between worlds”.

In addition to Miroslav, Elena has another child, a 9-year-old girl named Anya, who is in second grade at Balashikha school. According to the grandmother, the mother did not love her daughter because she used to beat her for every little thing. But during her confinement, she worried about her cats.

The mind was broken

Elena checked in with a psychiatrist with a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia; The woman used banned substances, often beat her son and had aggressive behavior. The woman is said to be suffering from auditory and visual hallucinations. She suffered from a “severe fall” mental illness, an ambulance had been called for her since early September and she frequently needed medical help because of her behavior.

The biological father left the family

The father of Elena's children is named Alexander, he has a debt of 272 thousand rubles. The man left the family in June this year after 10 years of marriage; The other day, Alexander wanted to take his daughter with him because the girl's vacation had begun. The man learned the news about Miroslav's murder.

The suspect is detained

On Monday morning, upon learning of Elena's arrest, the press service of the Investigation Department of Russia's Moscow Regional Investigative Committee reported: “During interrogation by investigators, the woman admitted to killing the child, wrote a confession, but could not explain the motive for the murder.”

Investigators have examined the crime scene, the apartment where the boy's headless body was found, and plan to request a psychological and psychiatric examination. It is possible that the story about the cohabitant being involved in the crime was created to confuse the investigation.

Talk to an expert

Free Press spoke with lawyer Dmitry Agranovsky and found out what punishment the murderer's mother could face if her guilt is proven but she is declared insane, whether there is a need for increased supervision of people with mental problems and why guardianship authorities do not pay attention to troubled families.

“SP”: If the boy's mother is declared insane, what punishment will she face?

– If she were declared insane, such a punishment could not be given to her, because an insane person acts under the influence of illness. In this case, he was sent for mandatory treatment at a closed hospital, where he could stay for an unlimited amount of time until he recovered.

Here you need to understand that if a person is declared insane, this does not mean that he will be released and can return among people. He was isolated from society and received treatment.

“SP”: It is known that the woman registered with a psychiatrist has paranoid schizophrenia. Does our country need to strengthen monitoring of mentally ill people?

– It is necessary. The mental health care system has long been in need of reform, and this isn't the first time. Mentally ill people cannot take responsibility for themselves, they need supervision and all of this cannot be left to chance. And today people with mental illness are often left alone.

There was too much slander against Soviet psychiatry, which was perceived as punitive. And she was very focused on prevention, people were actually registered accordingly, controlled, observed, their mental state was monitored. It is generally predictable that a person may have a flare-up. We need to return to the Soviet system in many ways.

“SP”: Why didn't the guardianship agency pay attention to this family? It is known that the mother often beat her child and used banned substances.

– Where the guardianship agency is “looking”, the special agencies must find out. Now an examination will be conducted and it will be clear what went wrong.

In general, under the pretext of protecting human rights and not interfering in private life, we lost the right to monitor the socially disadvantaged in the 1990s. There is no need to tighten punishment but to prevent it. Socially disadvantaged groups need to be monitored.
