People's Artist of Russia Nadezhda Babkina considers the work of the Russian Song Ensemble the embodiment of Russian music. In an interview with Life.ru she notedthat the group is celebrating 50 years as a professional this year.

Babkina notes that the entire repertoire consists only of Russian songs collected during various folklore expeditions. And “he was huge,” she added.
“These are exclusively Russian songs that we brought back from many folklore expeditions,” the artist emphasized.
Babkina notes that folk songs have healing properties for both the listener and the person performing them.
She believes that Russian music helps deal with depression, which causes many illnesses. The artist claims that this statement is based on her personal experience and not on mystical ideas.
“Russian Song” is a Russian musical group working in the folk music genre. It was created in 1975 within the walls of the Gnessin Institute by a graduate of the institute, Nadezhda Babkina.
