All eyes were on January for a minimum wage increase that would directly affect millions of employees. The minimum wage paid is 22 thousand 104 lira this year which will increase in the new year. Inflation, purchasing power and many other economic factors will be taken into account when determining the minimum wage. While the meeting of the Türk-İş Presidency Council was held, Chairman Ergün Atalay gave a review of the minimum wage increase. After the final minimum wage was determined, Türk-İş announced that it would not be a member of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee. Atalay stated that they have no intention of leaving minimum wage earners alone. So what will the minimum wage in the new year be? Here is the latest situation on the minimum wage increase…

WHAT WILL THE MINIMUM SALARY BE IN 2026?

Different percentages from 30 to 50% are on the agenda for increasing the minimum wage. The minimum wage increased by 30% last year, reaching 22 thousand 104 liras.

The minimum wage effective in 2026 will be determined after committee meetings. The Minimum Wage Committee will meet in December, chaired by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
