President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced that 500 thousand social housing projects have been implemented and these houses will be rented on favorable conditions. The application date for TOKİ social housing, which will be carried out by the Mass Housing Authority under the coordination of the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, remains on the agenda of citizens interested in the campaign. In official statements, applications have not yet begun; It is stated that it will be implemented through e-Government and the TOKİ official website. Applications are expected to begin in the last quarter of 2025. Once the application screen opens, the announcement is expected to be shared with the public at the project kick-off meeting.The President said, “For the first time we will launch housing rental. We will start housing rental registration for the first time with TOKİ. We will rent out some social housing with favorable conditions and provide relief to low-income families.” According to this statement, about 500 thousand houses will be built in the project and priority will be given to people without rights in earthquake areas, young people, families with 3 children, relatives of martyrs, and veterans.Applications will be made through e-Government and a nominal fee will be paid to participate in the lottery system. The residences will mainly consist of 2+1 apartments and some 3+1 apartments, and will be offered with 10% down payment and maturity of up to 240 months. Square meter prices and payments will be updated according to price increases.Speaking on this topic, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum gave the following information: “Next month, our respected President will share detailed information about the social housing campaign that will be implemented in 81 provinces. Here, I want to give good news to earthquake areas. We will build new social housing for all people without rights in the earthquake zone.”Details such as the location of houses to be built in the provinces and the number of houses to be built by province are expected to be announced in the coming days. Applications will be received through a system opened through e-Government. Like previous projects, payment of a registration fee will be required. The bank to which the prepayment will be made on the basis of the project will be announced along with the registration conditions.
