All eyes were on the minimum wage increase in January. While civil service salaries and pensions temporarily increased in July, the minimum wage remained at 22 thousand 104 lira. Following the downward trend in inflation, a temporary increase in the minimum wage is no longer on the agenda and the new year begins to look forward to it. Many economic conditions are considered when determining the minimum wage. As is the case with civil servants and pensions, salary increases are not directly based on inflation. The Ministry of Finance and Finance and the Ministry of Labor and Social Security continue their efforts to increase the minimum wage. Before the Minimum Wage Determination Committee is discussed in December, a “Tripartite Advisory Panel” will meet, chaired by the Ministry. At this meeting, views will be exchanged on the structure and functioning of the committee. New calculations of the minimum wage have attracted attention. So how much will the minimum wage increase? The tripartite advisory panel, comprised of workers, employers and government representatives, will meet on October 21 to discuss the work of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee. At the meeting organized by the Ministry, the parties will exchange views on the structure and operation of the Minimum Wage Determination Committee before negotiations on the minimum wage will begin in December.
Economists predict the January 2026 increase will be between 30 and 40%. The current minimum wage paid is 22 thousand 104 liras. In case the minimum wage increases by 30%, it will increase to 6 thousand 631 liras. If the increase rate is reduced to 35%, the current minimum wage will increase by 7 thousand 736 liras. If the minimum wage increase is 40%, the increase will be 8 thousand 841 liras. You can find the calculation done on the rate of increase below.
In case of a 30% increase, the minimum salary will be 28,735 TL. In case of a 31% increase, the minimum wage will be 28,956 TL. In case of a 32% increase, the minimum wage will be 29,177 TL. In case of a 33% increase, the minimum salary will be 29,398 TL. In case of a 34% increase, the minimum wage will be 29,619 TL. In case of a 35% increase, the minimum salary will be 29,840 TL.
In case of a 36% increase, the minimum wage will be 30,061 TL. In case of a 37% increase, the minimum salary will be 30,282 TL. In case of a 38% increase, the minimum salary will be 30,503 TL. In case of a 39% increase, the minimum wage will be 30,724 TL. In case of a 40% increase, the minimum salary will be 30,945 TL.
