The consumer confidence index for the Dutch economy showed the strongest improvement in the last three months of October.
The consumer confidence index in the Netherlands increased from -32 in September to -27 in October 2025, recording the first improvement in the last three months. This is the lowest negative value since December last year. The assessment of the economic environment is less pessimistic, rising to -46 from -53 in September. This has been supported by a better view of both the current and future economy. Views on the economic situation over the past 12 months are also less negative, falling from -62 to -55. Expectations for the next 12 months increased from -43 to -36. For households, last year's finances improved from -18 to -16, while expectations for the next 12 months turned positive at 2, from -1 previously. While willingness to buy increased from -18 to -14, the perception of the right time to buy in bulk also increased slightly from -34 to -30.
