In Australia, the court punished a woman who used a pancake to hit an official in the face

An angry Australian woman threw a cake in the face of the head of the local government and was sentenced to 12 months in prison. 1 News wrote about this. Suzanne Lee Milgate, a 56-year-old former real estate agent, appeared in court in Darwin for aggravated assault against then Prime Minister Natasha Fyles. The incident occurred in September 2023 at a local market. Milgate saw the official and attacked her. According to the court's verdict, she used a thin piece of dough to hit the woman's face, causing the victim to have a black eye, and the action itself not only caused her physical pain but also mental shock. The attacker tried to portray the incident as a “protest” against harsh measures taken by the Files-led government during the COVID-19 pandemic. Milgate explained that her husband had a stroke in January 2020 and had to have surgery, but could not be exempted from vaccinations. After the incident, she publicly apologized on television but Files refused the apology. Judge Julie Frantz classified the pancake as an “offensive weapon” and found the defendant guilty of “intentional assault”. Because Millgate had already served 24 days in jail, she received a suspended sentence but announced her intention to appeal the sentence because it prevented her from returning her real estate broker's license.
