Cut flowers, indispensable for special occasions, are also popular this year. The most produced flower is carnation with a rate of 41%.
Although cut flowers are often popular for special occasions such as New Year's Day, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day, production rates have decreased this year. Last year's cut flower output decreased by about 5.8% compared to 2024, down to 1 billion 331 million 709 thousand 272 pieces.
During this period, carnations were the most produced cut flowers in Türkiye with market shares of 41.3 and 827 million 699 thousand 310 pieces, respectively. Cloves still maintain their leading position even though production decreased by 6.9% compared to the previous year.
The flower with the greatest increase in output is water hyacinth. During this period, water hyacinth production increased by 58.4% and reached 1 million 438 thousand.
While cut rose production ranked second in terms of output with a market share of 5.7% and 114 million 431 thousand 167 units, the said output decreased by 7.2% last year compared to the previous year.
