Singer Ilya Gurov in a conversation with Channel Five said that Prokhor Chaliapin could become a worthy replacement for People's Artist of Russia Philip Kirkorov.
According to Gurov, Kirkorov is the “recognized king” of the stage, and Chaliapin is the “named one.” As the singer noted, Chaliapin only recently received love and fame.
“And most importantly, his sayings reached the people. And this shows that, for me, Chaliapin seems a worthy successor to Kirkorov. I wish him as many hits as possible. If he follows the path not of hype, but of music”, the performer shared.
In November, Chaliapin spoke about his conflict with Kirkorov, which began in 2007.
Chaliapin noted that in those years he remained on good terms with Kirkorov. However, one day he overheard a conversation between the People's Artist of Russia and communications director Larisa Sinelshchikova. Kirkorov advised her to give part of Dima Bilan's income to support Channel One. However, during a conversation with Rudkovskaya, Philip expressed indignation that this TV channel wanted to rob her ward.
Chaliapin was extremely indignant at these plots and decided to tell the producer the truth. According to the male singer, at that time he became an “enemy” of both Kirkorov and Rudkovskaya.
