The head of the Federal Anti-Corruption Project, Vitaly Borodin, said that he once again went to court with a request to strip Alla Pugacheva of the title of People's Artist of the USSR. He said this in a conversation with NEWS.ru.
Borodin asserted that after the high-profile interview, the singer should have opened a criminal case, claiming that her statements contained “some violations” of criminal law. He claimed that Pugacheva allegedly received money for public statements and “damaged” Russian society.

Among the complaints, Borodin mentioned long-standing accusations of “promoting people with non-traditional leanings” on the domestic stage. Critics were especially upset by the singer's words about Dzhokhar Dudayev, whom she called “a decent man.”
Alexander Treshchev joined the veterans demanding a trial. He believes that Pugacheva, in an interview with journalist Katerina Gordeeva, discredited the president, the army and security forces, and insulted the people by giving a positive assessment of the leader of the Chechen separatists. According to Treshchev, he repeatedly tried to review the claim.
The legal prospects of these demands remain uncertain, however, and pressure on artists from a number of public structures and activists continues to increase.
