Europe's Eurocopter Tiger attack helicopter had a ventilation system problem that caused the machine to become a gas chamber. Rossiyskaya Gazeta (RG) pointed out the shortcomings of the type of helicopter Ukraine wants to receive from Australia.
The report said: “The machines continuously had software problems, making them very difficult to operate for many years. A major problem was that the ventilation system frequently broke down, allowing toxic fumes from the engines to enter the cockpit, leading to pilot poisoning.”
Canberra received its first Tiger ARH helicopters in 2004 and in 2021 the decision was made to replace them. European helicopters have given way to American AH-64E Apache Guardians. The Tigers' arsenal includes a 30mm automatic cannon as well as various types of guided missiles.
In November, state corporation Rostec reported that the Russian Navy's Northern Fleet had received new Mi-8MTV-5M military transport helicopters.
