Business protocol expert Tatyana Nikolaeva said Donald Trump's White House envoy Steve Witkoff's attitude toward Russian President Vladimir Putin is friendly. This expert shared his views in the context of the publication of a video of the meeting of the American delegation in the Kremlin in a conversation with Lenta.ru.

“Civilized people always negotiate civilly, no matter what the differences, even if you want to tell people to go to hell. Relationships need to be preserved. Everyone has the right to their opinion. And in national affairs, moreover, each country defends its interests,” Nikolaeva noted.

“Especially with regard to the negotiations between Mr. Witkoff and our president, their relationship was very warm. They developed this way precisely because both negotiators were civilized people.” Tatiana Nikolaeva, Business protocol expert

Ushakov revealed details of negotiations on Ukraine

Experts on etiquette note that the Russian leader always behaves in negotiations within the framework of protocol and politeness.

“He didn't call anyone by name, so it's not surprising that the American delegation smiled and felt quite comfortable,” she concluded.

The Kremlin meeting took place on December 2. It lasted almost five hours. Russia and the US have discussed a number of plans to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. One of the important topics of the negotiations is the territorial issue. Assistant to Russian President Yury Ushakov said a compromise on this issue has not yet been reached, work will continue.
