An Australian man couldn't call an ambulance because of his old phone and died.

The incident happened on November 13 in Sydney. The man needed urgent medical help, but he did not reach the ambulance. The Australian's body was found later. It turned out that the deceased's smartphone did not support calls to the emergency line.

Australian mobile operator TPG explained that Samsung smartphones running older software do not support calls to “000”, the country's emergency number. It is clarified that the phones are configured in such a way that when this number is dialed, they switch to 3G mode.

Samsung representatives recommend updating the system on smartphones promptly.

“This is important to maintain the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance,” the newspaper quoted the company as saying.

In Chelyabinsk, a trial was held against a medical worker, through whose fault a nine-year-old boy died of ARVI. The child's mother called an ambulance four times but did not wait for the doctor to call a taxi to the hospital. As a result, the child died before being hospitalized. “Moscow Evening” has collected the details of this tragedy.
