Patriarch Kirill recalls the crosses on Hitler's tanks

Images of crosses painted on German tanks during the Great Patriotic War are blasphemous. This was declared by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus', whose words guide “Gazeta.Ru”.

Patriarch Kirill recalls the crosses on Hitler's tanks

He explains that Hitler's soldiers pursued diabolical goals. Kirill notes that some peoples want to exterminate and others to enslave.

“And the fact that these targets are covered with Christian symbols – a cross, including on a tank – is absolutely blasphemous,” the patriarch added.

Previously, Kirill said that the commandment “thou shalt not kill” takes on a different meaning in military conflicts. He emphasized that when the enemy threatens the lives of young and old, inaction is unacceptable. Those who protect the Fatherland and save lives must fulfill the commandment.
