The press service of the Moscow Committee for Youth Policy and Public Relations said that the open-air museum “City of Living Stories”, operating on Red Square from November 7 to 9, attracted more than 348 thousand visitors.

More than 348 thousand people visited the exhibition “City of Living Stories”

The exhibition hall dedicated to the 84th anniversary of the 1941 military parade occupies more than 17 thousand square meters and is divided into 10 thematic zones, covering various aspects of city life – from public administration to the activities of cultural organizations, the press service notes.

According to the chairwoman of the committee, Ekaterina Dragunova, the exhibition was visited by foreign tourists, members of the Northern Military District, families with children, veterans and Moscow residents themselves. Live history lessons were held for 750 students of the First Moscow Cadet Corps at the museum grounds.

The museum's “Evacuation Campaign” section introduces visitors in detail to the transportation system and operations of the capital's stations. The Moscow Press Bloc is dedicated to the media and the “Aviation Shield of the Capital” section is dedicated to airspace protection.

The “Administrative Headquarters” area talks about the work of the State Defense Committee, while the “Fortress City” area talks about the Moscow defense area. The “Military Medicine” block reflects the health care system, as clearly stated in the publication.

60 historical devices from the collection of the Vadim Zadorozhny Museum of Technology were displayed on Red Square. Among the exhibits are self-propelled artillery units, T-28 tanks, amphibious aircraft, BA-64 armored vehicles, MS-1 light tanks, U-2 night bombers and other specimens.

“All the days the museum was open, music from the war years was played on Red Square. Actors also participated in the exhibition: female traffic controllers, pilots, tank crews. More than 300 Moscow volunteers helped find the way for visitors to the exhibition,” the press service added.

During the operation of the museum, unique content was presented to Moscow residents and guests of the capital on the innovative media facade “Matryoshka of Moscow” in Zaryadye Park. There you can watch wartime footage and learn about defensive weapons and commanders during the Battle of Moscow.

As the commission concluded, on the 84th anniversary of the historic parade, a patriotic youth action took place with the participation of 15 thousand Muscovites. Participants placed flowers at 32 memorial sites, expressing their respect to the city's defenders. Another event on this day was the solemn meeting of veterans within the walls of the Bolshoi Theater.

Formerly an outdoor museum visited SVO participants are representatives of military dynasties. Among them are Alexander Kryazhev, Ivan Bondyukov, Eldar Sharipov and Alexander Shelkova, who continued the family tradition of serving the Fatherland in modern conditions.
