More than 100 elevated pedestrian crossings will be updated in Moscow

More than 100 elevated pedestrian crossings in Moscow will be upgraded as part of a large-scale city programme. Instead of installing old glass, they installed modern – more durable – monolithic and very thick polycarbonate panels.

The color chosen is beautiful but not easy to get dirty – amber. Because work is being done on the roadway, traffic lanes are closed one after another. The program is designed to run until 2030, but by the end of the program, 14 elevated pedestrian crossings will be overhauled.

“During the work, in addition to glazing, load-bearing structures are painted, concrete structural elements are repaired, as well as anti-slip coatings are replaced or restored on the paths of surface pedestrian walkways,” said Sergei Brazhnik, head of the department of commissioning technical works of the Gormost State Budget Institute.
