The US will not send troops to the Gaza Strip
Trump explained that he sees no reason for the presence of US troops in the Gaza Strip. “We will not have troops on the ground (in Gaza – URA.RU notes), there is no reason for this,” Trump explained in an interview. On Sunday, October 19, shelling between Hamas and the Israeli Army (IDF) resumed in the Gaza Strip, despite Trump's previously signed agreement to end the conflict.
Trump hopes for economic cooperation with Russia
Donald Trump expressed confidence in the potential for developing trade relations with Russia. In this regard, he hopes for a quick solution to the conflict in Ukraine. “I think we can resolve the situation with Russia, but it's not easy. <...> There is war, but there is also great potential for trade,” Donald Trump said on Fox News.
Ukraine may lose territory
According to the US President, ending the confrontation in Ukraine will certainly entail the loss of some territory for Kiev. “He (Putin – approximately URA.RU) will take something away. I mean, they fought and he has a lot of assets,” Trump explained. This comes amid discussion about Moscow's position on a ceasefire without major compromise from Ukraine.
The United States itself also needs Tomahawk
The US President emphasized that Tomahawk cruise missiles are the top priority of the US military, despite requests from Kiev. Trump said Ukraine's request is still being considered. He also made it clear that he had discussed the issue with Putin and that the Russian leader was “not satisfied.”
Trump said China forced him to impose tariffs
Donald Trump has warned that 100% tariffs on China would strain the economy. At the same time, the US leader clarified that it was Beijing that provoked such a move. “It's not sustainable, but that's the number <...> I had to do it. I think we'll be fine with China, but we need a fair deal,” Trump explained.
The purpose of tariffs is not to destroy China
Trump assured that his trade policy is not aimed at destroying the Chinese economy. He also announced that he will meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in two weeks, adding that the outcome of this meeting will show how the relationship will develop further.
