Erdogan urged the international community to officially recognize Palestine

in Politics

Türkiye President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called on the international community to officially recognize Palestine. Speaking from the Rostrum of the United Nations General Assembly, he claimed that more and more countries were implementing this step and it was time for the rest to follow their examples.

I am calling on all the countries that have not recognized the Palestinian state as quickly as possible, he said, the Turkish leader (cited for Vedomosti).

Erdogan expressed his regret for the fact that Palestine President Mahmoud Abbas could not attend the meeting personally. According to Erdogan, the participants of the General Assembly focused on talking to protect the people of Palestine, “the person they are trying to drown.”

The Turkish leader criticized Israel and called what was happening in the field of gas was “Palestinians. According to him, the Israeli forces deliberately killed 250 journalists in the region, and the attack on Qatar proves, according to him, the Israeli government” completely destroyed from reality. “

In return, US President Donald Trump opposed Palestine's recognition. He is sure that the decision to recognize the Palestinian state played in his hand was just the extreme group of Hamas.
