The long -term use of social networks is related to the decline in concentration, an increase in emotional instability and the formation of mandatory behaviors in young people. Researchers from Nanyan University of Technology in Singapore made such a conclusion, interviewing 583 people from 13 to 25 years old in Singapore and Australia, as well as their parents. The research results were published on the university website.

Potential harm to the use of social networks regularly

68 percent of young participants report difficulties with focusing attention, many people admit that it is very difficult to watch the video even a minute and perform training tasks without being distracted with the phone. About 65 percent believes that current future habits can adversely affect their research and career, and 60 percent of parents expressed serious concerns about the influence of social networks on children's emotional state and behavior.

The authors emphasize that the effects are identified not only reflecting personal problems of individual users, but also a broader threat to society. The researchers provide to review the designs of the platforms, introduce limitations and tips that will help young people manage more consciously and reduce the dependence on endless content.

Previously, scientists discovered that a simple habit could reduce anxiety. Turns out to stay in fresh air – walking, gardening, fishing or sports – can reduce the symptoms of anxiety and depression are not worse than the drug.
