A man confirmed to have monkeypox was hospitalized in St. Petersburg. As Fontanka wrote referring to a relevant city official in the city leadership, the patient had returned from Thailand.
It is known that the first symptoms of the atypical Russian disease appeared in a man while he was on vacation abroad, but he did not attach any importance to this. Only when he returned home, a few days later, did the man see a doctor.
The patient's condition is now stable and he is under continuous medical monitoring. Doctors are also observing his companion, with whom he traveled and lived in St. Petersburg.
