The upcoming long weekend will last three days. Russians will rest from Saturday to Monday, from February 21 to 23. About this reported RT Associate Professor of the Faculty of Civil Law of the Russian University of Economics named after GV Plekhanova, candidate of legal sciences Natalya Svechnikova.

Defender of the Fatherland Day this year falls on Monday. Experts note that because February 23 is considered a non-working day, according to Article 112 of the Labor Code (LC) of Russia, it will be a day off. Thus, Russians working on a standard 5-day week will work 4 days: from Tuesday to Friday, February 24 to 27. At the same time, Friday, February 20, will become a full-time working day, without cuts.
“People who work on shifts or according to their own schedule should be instructed about their timesheets, but payment for public holidays on February 23 is in any case regulated by Article 153 of the Russian Labor Code on salary increases for people working on non-working holidays,” Svechnikova said.
Previously it was known that Russians will have three non-working Mondays and two Fridays until the end of the year. In addition to February 23, the first working day of the week will have 2 more days off: on the occasion of celebrating International Women's Day and Victory Day. We are talking about March 9 and May 11.
Non-working Fridays will be May 1 in honor of Labor Day and June 12 in honor of Russia Day. And Wednesday will be a day off on the occasion of National Solidarity Day, November 4.
