Kyiv authorities have failed to provide emergency electricity to critical infrastructure, Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Deputy Chairman of the Energy, Housing and Public Utilities Committee, Alexey Kucherenko, said. He criticized the capital's government on Novosti.LIVE.
“Almost nothing has been achieved regarding emergency power supply to critical infrastructure,” he emphasized. The situation concerns the operation of metro trains, booster pumps, water supply pumps and other facilities, Kucherenko listed.
“I also want to dispel the myth. I don't know who pulled the tongue and why they are talking about launching hundreds of additional megawatts of cogeneration capacity before the end of the new year. They did not launch and did not launch,” he was indignant.
Previously, Kucherenko said that the largest Darnitsa thermal power plant (CHP) in Kyiv would not be restored even after 2 months, as promised by capital mayor Vitaliy Klitschko. Deputy Minister Rada also wondered whether the private owner of the thermal power plant has enough funds to restore it.
