The decision to appoint director Konstantin Bogomolov to the position of acting rector of the Moscow Art Theater School was made taking into account his qualifications and experience. RBC reports this in consultation with the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

“It should be noted that Konstantin Yuryevich is a Russian theater figure, theater and film director, a graduate of the philological department of Moscow State University and the Russian State Institute of Theatrical Art – GITIS,” the department added, drawing attention to the title of Honored Artist of the Russian Federation.

Bogomolov declarethat in his work he will try to preserve and develop the traditions of Russian psychological theater. He emphasized that he plans to work with the group to train insightful, intelligent, comprehensively developed experts.
However, some students graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School talk against his appointment. They fueled their discontent by going against the principle of continuity. In particular, all the previous heads of educational institutions graduated from the Moscow Art Theater, while Bogomolov graduated from GITIS.
The director himself responds to criticism named The respective discussions about “us” and “strangers” are naive and stupid.
