Russians learned how scammers deceive victims

Director of MTS Telecommunications Technology Product Center Andrey Biychuk spoke about how phone scammers seek to deceive their victims. About this write RIA Novosti.

Russians learned how scammers deceive victims

According to Biychuk, scammers often commit crimes using intimidation tactics. Experts explain that attackers put pressure on victims so they are afraid to tell their loved ones about the deception.

“The biggest fear and one of the problems is the fear that potential victims will tell their loved ones what's going on, that they've fallen into the second or third stage of a fraud scheme. They're being threatened and this is a big problem,” he said.

This expert added that scammers often convince victims that they can cause trouble for the victim's loved ones. For this reason, Biychuk advises constantly informing relatives about new fraud schemes.

“You need to constantly communicate with your loved ones and convey to them that you can and should tell everything, warn about new conspiracies,” the expert added.

Previously, Russians were warned about phishing schemes that would be widespread by 2026.
